Turning Point is a leading Social Enterprise supporting individuals with complex needs across Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Substance Use, and Public Health.
We are recruiting a doctor to serve as the Clinical Lead for our in-patient unit at Smithfield in Manchester. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of those experiencing difficulties related to drugs and alcohol.
The position is part-time, overseeing admissions and clinical care of residents, providing clinical leadership, training, and supervision for clinical staff.

The Clinical Lead should be a specialist in addiction treatment, with experience preferred but not mandatory in an in-patient setting.

The role involves 22.5 hours per week, typically 4 hours daily.
You will provide safe, effective, evidence-based care to service users, many with co-occurring conditions. Your duties include overseeing detoxification and stabilization regimes for substances like alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines, among others.
You will lead clinical governance, supervise staff, facilitate training, and contribute to service development. Collaboration with clinical colleagues across Turning Point and participation in peer support networks are essential.
Extensive experience in the substance use field is required, with a focus on delivering high-quality clinical interventions. You will work closely with the management team, clinical staff, local healthcare professionals, and stakeholders to provide holistic care before, during, and after admission.
