About the role
Are you an experienced Dietitian with a genuine interest in Diabetes? An exciting opportunity has arisen within Nutrition and Dietetic Services at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust for a motivated individual to join our established team of Primary and Secondary Care Diabetes Dietitians as a Band 6 Community Diabetes Dietitian. This is a great opportunity to expand your community experience or consolidate your existing experience and skills working with adults with Diabetes.
The post is full time (37.5 hours per week) and the main remit of the post is to provide face-to-face or virtual outpatient clinics within the Wakefield and North Kirklees localities. The clinical duties of the post includes (but not limited to) cover for diabetes outpatient clinics, home visits and care home provision. There would also be the opportunity to provide talks and education to health professionals, patients and other service users, as well as facilitating structured education. You will need to demonstrate your ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
The dietetic department is fully committed to CPD and clinical supervision. As we take A, B and C students from Leeds Beckett University, the post holder will also be expected to take an active role in supporting our student training programme.
Key requirements
This post is ideal for dietitians already working in diabetes, or non-specialist dietitians with sufficient experience looking to specialise or work in a different setting. It would also suit individuals looking to develop their skills in service development as we work to re-establish diabetes services across the local area. For the right candidate, we would also consider a band 5 to 6 training post with the requirement to meet set competencies within an agreed timescale.
