NHS National Services Scotland is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Community Dietitian to join a Tayside team delivering community-based nutritional care, including home enteral feeding, across Perthshire settings. The post collaborates with health colleagues, supports long-term conditions, and may require occasional ward cover.

The successful candidate will supervise Dietetic Support Workers and a Band 5 Rotational Dietitian, with emphasis on team work, communication, and independent practice.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is mandatory for the post.
• Experience as a Band 6 Specialist Dietitian is preferred.
• Experience in community-based settings is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Deliver community-based nutritional care, including home enteral feeding.
• Provide dietetic support to NHS Tayside's Long Term Conditions Service.
• Occasional ward cover in Perth Royal Infirmary.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist Community Dietitian to join one of our dynamic and friendly Tayside teams. The post offers an excellent opportunity to deliver a wide range of community based nutritional care with an emphasis on nutrition support, (including home enteral feeding) in Perthshire community settings such as GP practices, community hospitals, patients’ homes and care homes. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with other health and care colleagues, taking a pro-active approach to the clinical care of patients, service improvement, education and pathway development.

The post holder will also provide dietetic support to NHS Tayside’s Long Term Conditions Service. There will also be a requirement to provide occasional ward cover in Perth Royal Infirmary.

The post holder will be responsible for the supervision of Dietetic Support Workers and/or a Band 5 Rotational Dietitian. Excellent team working and communication skills are therefore essential in this role, as is the ability to work independently.

The Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service promotes collaborative working across all our teams in different settings and specialities. This enables and encourages the development and implementation of pathways, standards and innovative practice. It also allows for extensive peer support and opportunities for professional development. We are committed to the training of dietetic students, medical students and other healthcare professionals.
