Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.

Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.

The Evelina Community Children’s Occupational Therapy Service is an integral part of specialist services that provides care to the population of Lambeth and Southwark. Main duties of the job

The post holders will have the opportunity to work across our community sites with Evelina Community OT team based at Sunshine House Child Development Centre in Camberwell, Southwark and Mary Sheridan Child development Centre, Kennington, Lambeth.

You will have the opportunity to see children 0-19 across a range of conditions such as complex physical disabilities, Autism, Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), and deliver blocks of assessment and therapy intervention within the service model.

Within our service we use the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance and Engagement (CMOP-e) to guide our clinical reasoning and practice- keeping a clear focus on occupational outcomes.

• To provide an advanced standard of occupational therapy assessment, treatment, management and advice to paediatric patients aged 0-19, their families and carers within the community setting. The caseload consists of children with a wide range of development difficulties and/or disabilities, many of whom may have very complex or multiple pathologies.
• To work as a lone practitioner, unsupervised, and at times in conjunction with less senior team colleagues across a variety of locations within the community including patients homes, schools, clinics, to meet the needs of the individual child.

Knowledge/Qualifications

• State registered Occupational Therapist (Health and Care Professions Council)
• Recognised training course for an Occupational therapist (e.g. PGDip or degree).
• Member of Royal College of Occupational Therapy
• Member of Children’s and Young Person special interest group
