Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in West Dunbartonshire is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist with a focus on children and young people up to 18 with mental health difficulties. The post is based within CAMHS, delivering OT within a multidisciplinary team.

HCPC registration is essential; CAMHS/paediatrics experience is desirable. The role includes induction, CPD opportunities and regular supervision within a supportive team. Base: Acorn Centre, Vale of Leven Hospital, 21.6 hours per week.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is essential.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with children, young people and families.

Responsibilities

• Assess young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
• Contribute to clinical formulation and care plans.
• Support diagnosis of neurodevelopmental conditions.
• Help maximise occupational performance and participation in daily activities.
• Deliver individual and group occupational therapy interventions.
• Contribute to development of therapeutic group work.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Build relationships with children, young people and families.
• Apply evidence-based interventions and reflective practice.
