Job summary

NHS Scotland is recruiting a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Child Health Occupational Therapy Service on a fixed term/secondment until 31 July 2027. The post covers Tayside in Dundee, Angus or Perth with base to be confirmed on recruitment. Occasional home visits, school and clinic settings are expected.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, require HCPC registration, and hold a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy. Supervision and ongoing professional development are provided.

  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills expected.

Responsibilities

  • Work in diverse community settings including home visits, mainstream schools, clinics and inpatient services.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of professionals across health, education and social work.
  • Deliver occupational therapy services to children and young people from birth to 18 years within the Child Health service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Child Health Occupational Therapy Service for recruitment of a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team on a fixed term/secondment to 31.7.27. Our service provides a three tiered model of service delivery including universal, targeted and specialist interventions to children and young people from birth to 18 years across Tayside. This post will be within one of the teams across Tayside (Dundee & Angus, Perth or Acute) – base will be determined on recruitment.


This post will offer the post holder the opportunity to work with a range of children and young people, and gain / improve on specialist skills in Child Health Occupational Therapy. You will be required to work in a variety of community settings including home visits, mainstream schools, out-patient clinics / in-patient depending on team. The post holder will work closely with a wide range of professionals and agencies including other health professionals, education, and social work.


We are looking for an individual who has good communication skills and is committed to multi disciplinary team working. Applicants should have a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration. The Occupational Therapy Service offers supervision, appraisal, regular in-service training and is committed to Continued Professional Development.

Hours of work are: 36 hrs per week. Fixed Term/Secondment to 31.7.27.
