Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group is seeking a Biomedical Scientist to join the Haematology, Coagulation and Transfusion service. The role requires HCPC registration, a BSc in Biomedical Science and relevant specialist portfolio knowledge, with experience in UKAS ISO 15189 and MHRA labs.

You will work shifts across a 24/7 rota and contribute to delivering urgent patient-centred testing. Relocation support may be available; relocation to Poole area is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Completed Accredited BSc in Biomedical Science.
• Registration with HCPC.
• IBMS specialist portfolio or equivalent post graduate knowledge e.g. competency based evidence of specialist techniques.
• MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent area of specialty (Desirable)
• Experience of working in Haematology, Coagulation and Transfusion.
• Experience of working in a UKAS ISO 15189 and MHRA approved laboratory.
• Experience of working shifts over a 24/7 period.
• Familiarity with database and spread sheet software (Desirable).
• Familiarity with Quality Management Software (Desirable).
• Familiarity with Winpath software (Desirable).
• Willing and able to learn new skills.
• Currently participating in CPD
• A good understanding of Haematology/ Coagulation and Transfusion Science
• Ability to train junior staff to work in accordance to SOPs (Desirable)
• Desire and ability to relocate to the area.
