Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Biomedical Scientist (Haematology & Blood Transfusion) to join the Haematology & Blood Transfusion team based at Eastbourne District General Hospital, with cross-site work to Conquest Hospital as needed.

You will rotate through Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion, participate in a 24/7 shift rota, and contribute to a compliant laboratory operating under UKAS 15189 standards. NHS staff benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Qualified Biomedical Scientists, who have (or are close to achieving) HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist with experience in Haematology/Transfusion Science within an NHS setting.
• Rotate through Haematology, Coagulation, and Blood Transfusion sections of the department.
• Laboratories are UKAS 15189 accredited and promote a quality approach.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion sections.
• Work across two sites with cross-site duties as required.
• Participate in a 24/7 shift rota after training and assessment.
