Job summary

Prioryschool in Thurston seeks a committed Special Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a student with SEMH as their primary need. This role helps students access learning, build resilience, and develop confidence and independence within the classroom.

Working with teaching staff, you will assist with lesson preparation and delivery, monitor progress, and provide targeted help with personal and social development.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND and/or EYFS is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, patience, and commitment to inclusive education.

• Salary: £26,017- £26,847 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
• Actual Salary: £18,181 - £18,761 per annum

Working closely with teaching staff, you will support lesson preparation and delivery, contribute to monitoring and assessment, and provide tailored assistance with personal and social development. You’ll also play a key role in promoting positive relationships and modelling inclusive values throughout the school day, including during break times and transitions. Experience with SEND and/or EYFS is desirable, alongside strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
