Job summary

GKN Aerospace in the United Kingdom is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Materials & Processes (Special Process Auditor) to maintain oversight of supplier processes and drive compliance across the supply base.

You will monitor supplier quality, investigate root causes, and collaborate with engineers to implement improvements, with travel up to 50% to support business and supplier requirements.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification (BSc/ HND) in Material Science or related engineering field.
• Experience auditing processes, preferably AS9100.
• Strong knowledge of metals-based quality systems and quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain frequent contact with suppliers to monitor adherence to requirements and assist suppliers to understand the requirements where required.
• Support supplier approvals, through audits and assessments as applicable
• Handle supplier non-conformance, including root cause investigation, containment, and corrective action.
• Participate in supplier work transfers including initial evaluation and ongoing monitoring
• Support the Supplier First Article review process
