Protocol Education is looking for a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join schools supporting children with a variety of additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity to help nurture, encourage, and empower SEN pupils within a caring and inclusive environment.
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and SEN coordinators to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. You will play a vital role in assisting with learning activities, behaviour management, and emotional wellbeing.
Support individual and small groups of SEN pupils in class and during activities
Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies
Help adapt classroom resources to meet pupils’ needs
Provide emotional support and encouragement to build confidence and engagement
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and parents
Support pupils with daily routines and transitions
Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN)
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
Ability to work flexibly within a busy classroom environment
A proactive and positive attitude
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Protocol Education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
