As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teaching staff, SEND professionals, and senior leaders, gradually taking on more responsibilities to support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities of a Graduate Teaching Assistant:

  • Support students in literacy and numeracy across KS3 and KS4
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group academic interventions to boost student confidence and progress
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resource development, and classroom management
  • Support learners with Special Educational Needs (SEND) using inclusive strategies
  • Develop your own teaching practice in a supportive and structured school setting
  • Take on increasing teaching responsibilities as your experience grows

What we're looking for in a Graduate Teaching Assistant:
  • A 2:1 degree or higher in any subject (all graduates considered)
  • A strong desire to work in education and train as a teacher
  • A proactive, resilient attitude and strong communication skills
  • Some experience working with young people (paid or voluntary) is beneficial but not essential
  • A commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
  • An understanding of safeguarding, or willingness to undertake training
