Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant for a Radcliffe SEN primary school starting September, on a full-time basis. You will support pupils with a range of needs and collaborate with teachers to deliver personalised learning in an inclusive setting.

The role focuses on one-to-one and small group support, developing social, emotional and communication skills while promoting independence in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with special educational needs.
• Patience, caring and committed to helping every child succeed.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive, flexible and adaptable to pupils' needs.
• Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

The Role

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.

• Support pupils with their social, emotional, and communication development.
• Encourage independence while promoting a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

• Have experience working with children with special educational needs, either in a school or similar setting.
• Be patient, caring, and committed to helping every child succeed.
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Be proactive, flexible, and able to adapt to the individual needs of pupils.
• Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).
