Job Description:
  • SEN Teaching Assistant
  • BS41

  • Full-Time

A Primary School that we work with on the outskirts of Bristol is currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them as soon as possible.

They have a 1:1 role that needs to be filled for a KS1 pupil with autism. This child needs support, keeping focussed as engaging with the lessons is a difficulty. This role will be on a full time basis and will be 8.30-15.30 every day, Monday to Friday.

About your new role:

The school is looking for someone who can jump straight into the role and use intuition to pick the role up quickly. The pupil the role involves has complex needs and needs consistency so you must be reliable and confident in your ability to support the child and adapt your methods in order to do so.

You must have experience with SEN and be able to successfully demonstrate how you are able to support the child. Experience as a TA is also essential.

What will you do on a daily basis?

  • Working with pupils either in a 1:1 or group capacity
  • Build effective, trusting relationships with children
  • Be flexible, adaptable and able to act proactively to unpredictable situations
  • Be reflective and fully committed to continued professional development
  • Foster excellent working relationships with staff, parents and other professionals
