Job summary

Highfield Littleport Academy in Cambridgeshire is seeking a Student Support Assistant to join our specialist 2-19 school, supporting pupils with complex needs to feel safe, confident and ready to participate in school life.

You will provide personal care and medical support in line with EHCPs and assist with pupil safety and inclusion, working with teachers to ensure high-quality care and support for pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Ability to work with care plans and EHCPs.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and medical support in line with EHCPs and Personal Care Plans, including toileting, feeding and mobility assistance.
• Support pupils’ safety, wellbeing and inclusion throughout the school day, including lunchtimes and outdoor supervision.
• Assist with specialist care programmes, such as physiotherapy or hydrotherapy, under professional guidance.
• Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality procedures.
• Work closely with teachers and colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality care and support for pupils.
