Job summary

Hangleton Primary School in Portslade by Sea is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work under guidance of teaching staff, delivering specialized support programmes and helping pupils with significant needs access the curriculum.

You will be part of a linked schools arrangement with Benfield, may work at either site, and contribute to IEPs, intervention delivery, and promoting pupil independence and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with significant needs and social/communication difficulties.
• Completion Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant.
• Solid understanding of the national curriculum, child development, and basic learning strategies.
• Ability to work in a team and self-evaluate learning needs.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills and ability to use ICT to support learning.

Responsibilities

• Specialised Pupil Support: supervise and provide tailored support for pupils with significant needs, ensuring safety and access to learning.
• IEP Implementation: assist in the development and delivery of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans.
• Intervention Delivery: deliver planned intervention programmes with colleagues.
• Foster Independence: promote self-esteem and pupil independence.
• Communication & Inclusion: promote inclusion and social interaction.
