Job description

Overview

Special Needs Assistant position at a secondary SEN school in Emsworth, Havant. Academics are recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary school for around 100 pupils who require a personalised curriculum to meet their moderate learning needs, physical, sensory and language challenges and who may be on the Autism Spectrum.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis across KS3 and KS4. The class sizes are small so lessons are tailored to meet individual learning needs. The school uses a primary module.
  • Assist with delivering tailored lessons designed to meet individual learning needs.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment for pupils with special educational needs.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience as a Special Needs Assistant or experience with SEN.
  • Willingness to work with children with special educational needs.
  • Recent experience supporting children in a school or care setting.
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours (8.45am – 3:00pm), term-time, with potential temp-to-perm contract.
