Job summary

Remedy Education seeks a dedicated SEN Teacher to work in Chelmsford’s primary and secondary SEN schools. You will plan and deliver lessons tailored to diverse needs, manage classrooms, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

The role is full-time, long-term with potential to become permanent. Candidates with QTS/PGCE and experience in SEN education are encouraged to apply for immediate interviews and start ASAP.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • PGCE or equivalent training.
  • Experience or strong interest in SEN education (primary or secondary).
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Teach pupils across primary and/or secondary SEN settings depending on placement.
  • Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
  • Create a safe, structured learning environment.
  • Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress.
  • Use a range of strategies to support communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists, and wider school teams.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
  • Implement and follow EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
  • Support positive behaviour management strategies across the classroom.

Role Overview

We are working with a range of SEN schools in Chelmsford (primary and secondary settings) who are looking for dedicated SEN Teachers to join their teams immediately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach pupils across primary and/or secondary SEN settings depending on placement
