Harrison County School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher Assistant to support students with disabilities and assist the lead teachers in delivering individualized services within the special education program.

Position requires completion of at least 48 college hours or an associate degree, plus Mississippi background checks. The role includes supervision duties, collaboration with teachers, and involvement in displaying and organizing instructional materials.

Responsabilités

• Hear the students in recitation, reading, and other tasks, guiding them but not teaching.
• Assist the teacher with individualized and diagnostic instruction.
• Provide assistance to students’ individual needs while the teacher works with other groups.
• Supervise small group activities.
• Arrange displays and assist in setting up interest corners under the teacher’s directions.
• Assist absentees to make up work.
• Operate classroom technologies and assist with special education students integrated into regular classes.
• Support routine supervision of students in halls, restrooms, and other areas of the school campus.
