Job summary

ESU 7 is seeking a paraprofessional to assist in special education, working with students with disabilities in a 30-hour per week schedule. Duties include supporting students’ life skills, meal prep, and assisting in job preparation while maintaining confidentiality.

Requirements include a high school diploma and strong communication, with experience around special needs being preferred. Collaboration with a supervising teacher is essential to ensure a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience with individuals with special needs preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow directions from supervising teacher.
• Maintain positive communication for ESU 7 activities.
• Support students to develop independent life skills.
• Meal preparation and cleanup.
• Assist students on job sites.
• Prepare students for job readiness (uniforms, IDs, hygiene).
• Maintain and submit one-on-one student hours.
• Maintain confidentiality of staff, students, and parents.
