Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to assist teachers in a special education setting, supporting instructional programs and student care. The role involves preparing materials, managing classroom displays, and supervising students throughout the day.

You will help with personal care and mobility needs for students, assist substitutes, and contribute to behavior management under teacher supervision. A focus on confidentiality and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 2 years of college (48 college credit hours) with required courses.
• Associate's degree (or higher) from an accredited institution or a minimum ETS Parapro Exam score of 450.
• Proficient in general computer use, email, and job-specific equipment or software.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of classroom equipment.
• Assist teachers in maintaining administrative records and preparing required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transfers to/from wheelchairs and positioning.
• Assist students with basic personal care as trained.
• Help manage student behavior, including crisis intervention.
• Support learning by working with students individually or in small groups on motor skills and exercises.
• supervise students during lunchroom, bus, and playground duties.
• Keep teachers informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development, meetings, and school events.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel and student information.
• Uphold safety rules and district policies and support district goals.
