Job summary

Ash Field Academy invites applications for a Special Education Needs (SEN) Class Teacher on a permanent basis. The post carries the Main Pay Scale M1-M6 plus SEN Allowance. Working hours are 32.5 per week across 52 weeks per year.

The appointment is subject to Discovery Academy Trust pay and conditions. Ash Field Academy is part of Discovery Schools Trust and aims for outstanding teaching and pupil outcomes.

Qualifications

• Requires degree level with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching the SEN/age range applied for.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to be actively involved in school life and community.
• Commitment to supporting and enhancing the school's ethos and vision.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the curriculum appropriate to the age and ability group/subject.
• Prepare and develop teaching materials, programmes and pastoral arrangements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject/s that you teach.
• Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate.
• Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of pupils’ you teach.
• Be aware of pupils’ capabilities, their prior knowledge and plan teaching and differentiate appropriately to build on this demonstrating knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn.
