Rolls-Royce in Derby is hiring a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join the Spare Parts Management team. You will install, configure, and support SPM and Intellicus solutions across RRIT and DXC environments, with Oracle 19c, Tomcat and Java maintenance.

The role requires strong technical capability, troubleshooting, and translating business needs into scalable solutions. A UK National Security Check is required; Rolls-Royce will support clearance for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of PTC Servigistics SPM and Intellicus deployment.
• Experience with Oracle 19c database administration and patching.
• Proficient in SQL scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with Windows scheduled tasks and IIS proxy configuration.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex application components and support deployments.

We deliver solutions against requirements from the empowered businesses. Predominately this involves a good understanding of the Rolls-Royce processes and capabilities, working with suppliers and Eco Partners to design, develop, test and deploy solutions.We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of PTC Servigistics Parts Management (SPM), Intellicus Reporting, and the supporting technology stack. The Subject Matter Expert (SME) must be capable of installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting SPM and Intellicus solutions across both RRIT and DXC managed environments.This includes software installations and upgrades, Tomcat and Java maintenance, Oracle 19c database administration and patching, custom code deployment, reporting migrations, and automation scripting. We expect you to be self-motivated and self-sufficient in delivering technical activities and resolving incidents. You would also be required to act as a technical advisor to Project Managers and delivery teams, whilst working under the direction and governance of the Solution Architect to ensure solutions remain aligned with Rolls-Royce standards and strategic objectives.What you will be doing:The successful candidate should bring strong technical capability across SPM and Intellicus deployment, Oracle 19c database administration, SQL scripting, Tomcat and Java maintenance, Windows scheduled tasks, command-line automation, IIS proxy configuration, backup and recovery, and complex application support.Provide a deep understanding of relevant solution within their Solution Delivery Team.Troubleshoot and debug solution components (configuration of system components).Evaluation of technical feasibility and application of Solution Development best practices.Develop a detailed appreciation of an industry / Solution family and its business requirements.Advise on trends relevant to a particular business process or Solution.Design, document and present recommended solutions to relevant key stakeholders for approvalPosition qualifications:Ability to translate business requirements into scalable functional solutions within the constraints of the enterprise architecture and systems level design.Ability to resolve complex problems using acquired technical experience and knowledge; in situations of conflict able to recognise alternative approaches for reaching a solution and implement most appropriate course of actionAbility to absorb technical information and communicate effectively at all levels to both technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to understand the implications of new technologies and industry developments, proactively communicating the opportunity and impact to the team.Ability to deal with ambiguity, take decisions, make recommendations with minimal data, and quickly understand the key technical issues in potentially complex technical problems on unfamiliar subjectTo work for this Rolls-Royce business area an individual must hold a Security Check clearance.
