Job summary

James Hall & Co. Ltd. is opening a brand-new SPAR store in Station Square, Grange-over-Sands. We are recruiting for multiple roles across the opening team, including Multi-Skilled Retail Assistants, Deli Assistants and Retail Assistants. Various contracts available with flexible hours.

Join us to deliver excellent service, help shape fresh food offerings, lead and support teams, and grow with a growing community-minded retailer. Training is provided and staff benefits will apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or hospitality is a plus.
• Able to work flexible hours in a busy store environment.
• Full training provided for all roles.
• Leadership experience in retail or food service is beneficial for Supervisor roles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service and create a welcoming shopping experience.
• Prepare and serve fresh food from the new deli counter.
• Prepare hot food and food-to-go to high standards.
• Operate tills and handle customer transactions accurately.
• Replenish stock and maintain attractive shelves and displays.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety.
• Lead, coach and motivate colleagues to deliver exceptional service (Supervisor roles).
• Support day-to-day store operations and deli department oversight.

About the Opportunity

An exciting new SPAR store is opening soon, and we're looking for enthusiastic people to join our opening team!

Our brand-new store will feature a fantastic fresh food offering, including a brand-new deli counter, alongside everything our customers know and love from SPAR.

Whether you're passionate about customer service, preparing fresh food, leading a team, or enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment, we'd love to hear from you.

We're currently recruiting for a variety of roles, including:

Here's What You Can Expect to be Doing

Depending on the role, you could be:

• Delivering outstanding customer service and creating a welcoming shopping experience.
• Preparing and serving fresh food from our exciting new deli counter.
• Preparing hot food and food-to-go products to the highest standards.
• Operating tills and handling customer transactions accurately.
• Replenishing stock and ensuring shelves and displays are fully stocked and well presented.
• Maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety.
• Supporting with deliveries, stock rotation and reducing waste.
• Leading, coaching and motivating colleagues to deliver exceptional service (Supervisor and Deli Supervisor roles).
• Taking responsibility for maintaining high operational standards and supporting the day-to-day running of the store or deli department.

For our Supervisor and Deli Supervisor roles, previous leadership experience within retail or food service would be an advantage. Previous retail or food preparation experience is beneficial for our assistant roles but isn't essential, as full training will be provided.
