Our Space Imaging business in Chelmsford provides high-performance CCD, Infrared, and CMOS sensors for space science, earth observation, astronomy, and high energy physics applications.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our highly successful manufacturing team, to develop high-precision silicon assembly and provide support to manufacturing.

Summary

• Development of new and existing Probe capabilities for testing CCD / CMOS Wafers
• Work with Production Engineers to ensure DFM (design for manufacture) is optimized
• Assist with development and writing procedures for prototyping new products
• Continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes and work instructions, collaborating with the wider production/manufacturing team
• Generation of SAP ME routings from manufacturing flow diagrams
• Generation of SAP BOMs and master data, working with design, engineering, and procurement teams
• Ensure all documentation is confirmed through Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
• Manage and optimize operations flow (information and production flow)
• Assist with production trials and ensure all relevant documentation is completed
• Work within existing NPI processes

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

• Experience in Production/Manufacturing
• Experience developing manufacturing processes
• Experience working in a project manufacturing environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with documented results
• The ability to work effectively in a team
• Self-motivation
• Attention to detail
• HNC in Engineering or Physics or equivalent experience

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

• Experience within an Electronics product manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
