Job summary

NewOrbit Space is seeking a hands-on technician for precision mechanical assembly, integration and test support of the AURA X satellite and thruster system. You will work across the full hardware lifecycle, from assembly and inspection to building test fixtures and supporting AIT campaigns on the satellite and propulsion system.

In a lean AIT team you will also support Goods In, receiving and inspecting incoming mechanical parts, logging them into the programme inventory, and ensuring

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience assembling flight-grade hardware.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T callouts.
• Experience in cleanroom/ISO-classified environments.
• Strong attention to documentation and traceability.
• Safety-first mindset around pressurised systems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble satellite structures and propulsion components to drawings.
• Use calibrated torque tooling and log torques.
• Maintain cleanroom operations and ISO compliance.
• Build mechanical test fixtures and GSE.
• Support vibration, shock, and structural test campaigns.
• Inspect goods in and log into inventory.
• Maintain as-built records and non-conformance logs.
