Job summary

Anglian Water Services is recruiting a General Foreman to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance. Based on site at North Norfolk, you will support the Construction Manager and work with Engineers and framework contractors to deliver non‑infrastructure works within programme and budget while promoting a strong safety culture.

You will lead site inductions, safety briefings, and keep comprehensive site records. SMSTS, First Aid, and NRSWA Supervisors qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the construction industry, ideally water infrastructure.
• Experience supervising sub-contractors on site.
• Understanding of engineering principles and construction techniques.
• Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
• First Aid at Work certification.
• New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) Supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Deliver site inductions, daily site briefings, and safety briefings to framework contractor personnel with records.
• Plan and ensure works are safe, controlled, and cost-efficient.
• Coordinate vehicle and plant movements with pedestrian segregation on site.
• Promote a healthy safety culture on site and challenge unsafe behaviours.
• Coordinate deliveries of materials and maintain site security.
• Support Construction Manager and Engineers in planning upcoming works with adequate labour, plant and materials.
• Coordinate framework contractors' activities and manage interfaces on site.
• Review productivity and assist with programme updates.
• Maintain site records including daily diaries, quantities, and photos.
• Assist Site Engineers with Inspection and Test Records.

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about contributing to one of the UK's most ambitious water infrastructure projects? The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for a General Foremen to support and enhance our project delivery team.

What will you be doing as our new General Foreman?

You will work within the site team, supporting the Construction Manager and working alongside Engineers and Framework Contractors to successfully deliver and coordinate non-infra works within budget and programme whilst promoting a positive behavioural safety culture.

Key responsibilities:

Delivery of site inductions, daily site briefings and safety briefings to framework contractor site personnel covering appropriate health, safety and environmental topics and ensure records of briefings are maintained

Ensure that all works are properly planned and carried out in safe and controlled manner and in a cost-efficient manner

Coordinate vehicle and plant movements on site ensuring pedestrian segregation

Promote a healthy safety culture on site, challenging behaviours and promoting good practice

Coordinate deliveries of materials to site and maintain site security

Support Construction Manager and Engineers in the planning of upcoming works, ensuring adequate labour, plant and materials are available to deliver the works in line with the programme

Coordination of framework contractors' construction activities on site ensuring interfaces are adequately managed

Review productivity on site and support Construction manager and Planner with programme

Maintain adequate site records inclusive of daily diaries, quantities of works completed and photographic evidence

Support Site Engineers with completion of Inspection and Test Records
