Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Spa Duty Maintenance Engineer to join the team at The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh. The role involves working 5 days out of 7, including weekends.

The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is one of Scotland's leading 5-star hotels, featuring extensive banqueting and meeting facilities, an award-winning ONE SPA, and a restaurant and bar.

Role:

As a duty engineer for the One Spa, you will maintain its condition, perform tasks from replacing light bulbs to conducting pool tests, address immediate repairs, establish preventative maintenance, and ensure cleanliness of plant rooms. You will collaborate with the maintenance management and Spa Director to keep facilities in excellent condition and assist with hotel maintenance requests during peak times.

• Respond to maintenance requests, repairing faults related to HVAC, lighting, plumbing, pool plant, and thermal suite.
• Maintain accurate records for reporting purposes.
• Perform and record regular preventative maintenance and safety checks, including emergency lighting, descaling, lighting and temperature checks, fire safety, meter readings, and equipment operation.
• Conduct health and safety testing, including Legionella control.
• Take ownership of designated emergency evacuation roles.
• Assist with general hotel maintenance tasks as needed.

Requirements:

We seek an energetic, self-motivated individual with at least 2 years' experience in a similar role, capable of working independently and as part of a team. You should have strong communication skills, guest service orientation, and experience in hotel maintenance, especially plumbing and boilers. You must complete relevant documentation, understand health and safety procedures, and be familiar with fire alarm systems, energy management, and using various tools and equipment.
