Job summary

Keyline Civils Specialist is seeking a Utilities Technical Sales Specialist based in the South, operating from one of Keyline’s branches. You will drive growth across water and utilities by turning complex enquiries into winning packages and coaching branches to trade utilities independently.

The role demands a practical grasp of PE pressure pipes, barrier pipe systems and water authority standards, with a proactive, outbound mindset to win high-value tenders and build regional market share.

Qualifications

• Experience in a utility merchant, pipeline specialist or utility contractor environment.
• Proven track record with clean and wastewater enquiries, technical specs and contractor schedules.
• Confident in quoting, estimating and negotiating price over the phone.
• Strong knowledge of PE pressure pipe, barrier pipe systems, electrofusion fittings, gate valves, boundary boxes and access chambers.
• Understanding Water Authority adoption standards (G81 / regional spec books) and building profitable full trench quotes.
• Proactive outbound mindset and coaching approach.

Responsibilities

• Own quote enquiries from first call to won order and negotiate margins.
• Re-engage low-spend or dormant accounts and convert to regular trade.
• Own complex, high-value tenders and provide branches with winning plans.
• Build dedicated stock packages to reduce contractor lead times.
• Coach and upskill branch teams on live enquiries.
• Maximise opportunities across trench scope from pipe to finishings.
