Job summary

Last Mile Group is recruiting a Senior Business Development Manager (Utilities) for Southeast England. You will lead a multi-utility sales team, drive strategic growth and manage major project accounts across electricity, gas, heat, clean water and wastewater infrastructure services.

You will build strong client relationships, navigate regulatory contexts, and shape competitive proposals while aligning with internal delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development or commercial leadership within the utilities sector.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure delivery models, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability drivers across multi-utilities.
• Demonstrated success in securing and delivering complex contracts or partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Growth & Market Development – develop and deliver a sector-focused strategy across utilities.
• Client & Stakeholder Engagement – build relationships with clients, regulators and partners.
• Commercial Leadership – lead pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and ensure sound deal structures.
• Major Projects & Partnerships – oversee major accounts and support bids and partnerships.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration – mentor direct reports and work with cross-functional teams.
• Performance & Process Improvement – monitor pipelines and drive continuous improvement.
