Job summary

Alongside is seeking a Housing Officer to support individuals leaving prison by delivering safe, temporary accommodation across the South West. You’ll manage a dynamic caseload, working with probation services to help clients build independence and stability.

Hours are 37.5 per week on a permanent basis, with on‑call duties and travel across Somerset, B&NES, and North Somerset. You’ll join CAS3 and provide trauma‑informed, person‑centred support that makes a meaningful difference.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people who may have complex needs and/or challenging behaviours.
• Knowledge of the supported housing sector, ideally with people on probation.
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
• Willingness to work flexibly until 8pm, as needed, to support new arrivals into properties.

Responsibilities

• Collaborative Working: Build strong relationships with partner agencies to keep clients informed and safe.
• Welcoming New Clients: Introduce new arrivals to accommodation and set expectations from day one.
• Housing Management: Ensure properties are safe, secure, and well-kept, reporting repairs promptly.
• Delivering Outstanding Support: Provide person-centred, trauma-informed support to empower clients toward independence.
