Job summary

National Highways is recruiting a Service Delivery Manager to oversee highway maintenance across the South West. The role covers Exeter and depots in Devon and Cornwall with travel across the region.

You will manage supplier performance, track programme delivery and ensure safety and quality standards are met. The successful candidate will have an engineering degree or equivalent, knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, and experience with budgets and forecasting, plus CDM designer responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of asset policies and highway industry guidance.
• Familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 contracts and supplier governance.
• Experience managing budgets, accruals and forecasting.
• CDM designer assurance alongside quality and performance monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier performance to contractual SLAs and safety standards.
• Proactively track performance of Route(s) or contract scope and risks.
• Analyze root causes and implement remedial action plans.
• Maintain cyclical and reactive maintenance work plans and costs.
• Ensure maintenance plans integrate with regional programme and minimise disruption.
• Design and instruct repairs to highway assets per standards and CDM rules.
