Highways Service Delivery Lead (South West)

Job summary

National Highways in Exeter is seeking a Service Delivery Manager to oversee and control the delivery of highway maintenance and repair works across the South West Region.

The role is based in our Exeter office or depots across Devon and Cornwall, with occasional travel and driving required. You will ensure activities meet technical, quality and safety standards, with a strong focus on customer service and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of asset policies and highways strategies.
• Good understanding of NEC3 and NEC4 supply chain contracts.
• Engineering degree or relevant technical qualifications/accreditations.
• Experience with budget management, accrual accounting and forecasting.
• CDM designer assurance with quality and performance monitoring of works.

Responsibilities

• Managing supplier performance to service level agreements and safety standards, with remedial actions.
• Proactively tracking performance of the assigned Route(s) or contract scope and identifying trends.
• Analyzing root causes of performance issues and developing remedial action plans.
• Maintaining cyclical and reactive maintenance work plans and tracking costs.
• Ensuring maintenance plans are integrated to minimise customer disruption.
• Undertake detailed design and instruction of repairs for highway asset defects.
