Upham Inns is recruiting a Sous Chef to work under the Head Chef, leading and developing junior team members while delivering high-quality pub meals to on-site guests. You’ll manage rosters, handle ordering and storage, and ensure safety and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations.

We offer a salary up to £38,000 per year plus a share of Tronc (up to £5,000), plus meal and accommodation discounts, and a development pathway to Head Chef.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience as Sous/Junior Sous chef.
• Strong leadership and training abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef and management team.
• Work within company menus and recipes.
• Manage staff rosters and allocate tasks.
• Train and develop junior chefs.
• Handle food orders, stock control and storage.
• Maintain high hygiene and presentation standards.
• Comply with food safety, health and safety and licensing laws.
