Job summary

The Ship Inn sits in a truly stunning location on the banks of Yealm Estuary, complete with riverside beer garden and mooring space. We’re a historic village pub seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our friendly team in one of the area's most idyllic settings.

You will lead with passion, design fresh menus, mentor the kitchen team, manage rotas and health & safety, and work closely with the Head Chef to drive quality and growth.

Qualifications

• We are seeking an existing Sous Chef or Senior CDP aiming for the next step.
• Candidate is a natural leader with a passion for high-quality, fresh food.
• Must be hands-on, with excellent communication and teamwork.
• Capable of managing the kitchen rota, training, and health & safety.
• Will contribute to designing/new dishes and daily specials with creativity.
• Strong planning skills to control GP and labour; proactive in driving sales.
