Job summary

BM Caterers is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to support our kitchen operation in London, Mon to Friday, with a £42,000 per annum salary plus paid overtime. You will lead by example alongside the Head Chef, delivering creativity, consistency and energy to the kitchen.

You’ll manage day-to-day kitchen activities, help with menu planning, ensure food safety standards, mentor junior staff and step in during the Head Chef’s absence, while maintaining service targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar chef role.
• Strong organisation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Helping deliver high-quality food within budget and service targets.
• Contributing to menu planning and food innovation.
• Maintaining food safety, health and safety, COSHH and HACCP standards.
• Supporting and guiding junior team members.
• Helping manage kitchen organisation and standards.
• Stepping up in the Head Chef’s absence when needed.
