Job summary

Lion Hotel Worksop, part of Frasers Group, is recruiting a Sous Chef to lead a busy kitchen and deliver consistent, high-quality dishes across the restaurant, bar and events. You will mentor the team, drive food standards and manage costs while ensuring guest satisfaction.

You will work closely with the Kitchen Manager to optimise performance, maintain compliance and foster a culture of pride, learning and excellence in a lively hotel setting within Worksop.

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef in hotel, restaurant or similar high-volume kitchen.
• Must hold NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or equivalent.
• Proven leadership and ability to develop a team while maintaining standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and motivate the kitchen team to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Ensure food safety, health & safety and compliance across shifts.
• Assist Kitchen Manager with budgeting, stock control and procurement.
• Review department performance using external stock results and audits.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure guest experience and food standards are preserved.
