Job summary

Bel & The Dragon Kingsclere is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to stand in for the Head Chef during their absence and to drive seasonal, locally sourced dishes with creativity and flair.

You will lead a kitchen team, ensure high standards of food quality and hygiene, and contribute to a welcoming, home‑from‑home dining experience for guests at this charming country inn.

Qualifications

• Hygiene qualification, excellent food knowledge and food safety awareness are essential.
• Experience as a Sous Chef or deputy to the Head Chef is preferred.
• Ability to lead the kitchen team and support during the Head Chef's absence.

Responsibilities

• Take full control of the kitchen when the Head Chef is away.
• Prepare fresh food made from seasonal, local ingredients.
• Bring new ideas and create fresh dishes.
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team to deliver top services.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety throughout services.
