Hotel Indigo Torquay - Sous Chef

Hotel Indigo Torquay is on the lookout for a dynamic Sous Chef to inspire and lead in our brand-new, highly anticipated hotel opening. Join the excitement and become part of the Hotel Indigo family!

Hotel Indigo Torquay, opening in 2025, promises a stimulating new addition to this idyllic coastal town. Nestled along the stunning English Riviera, the hotel will offer guests breathtaking views of Tor Bay and access to some of Torquay’s most iconic beaches and walking trails. Close to local attractions, including the historic Torre Abbey and the lively harbour, guests can indulge in the region's renowned culinary scene featuring fresh seafood and artisanal delights. Hotel Indigo aims to provide a unique and memorable experience, capturing the spirit of this longstanding English seaside location.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Restaurant and Bars manager to ensure a coordinated F&B approach.
  • Be accountable for the Kitchen operation, including production, cleanliness, and safe systems of work, especially in the absence of the Executive Head Chef.
  • Create and develop dishes on our menu to celebrate local cuisine and keep up with food trends.
  • Support and develop our Chef team through training and upskilling to ensure excellent culinary experiences for our guests.
Candidate Requirements
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week across various shifts based on business needs.
  • Experience as a Senior Chef De Partie or Sous Chef within a similar-sized property.
  • Completed Level 3 Food Safety certification and knowledge of HACCP.
  • Knowledge of operational systems such as Micros Simphony (or relevant POS) and Procure Wizard.
  • Ability to create and deliver menus using appropriate suppliers and products, adhering to brand standards.
  • Engagement with external networks and awareness of current food trends.
  • Technical skills to work across all kitchen sections during service.
