Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Sous Chef to help us create exceptional food experiences for Levy on a full-time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

Assisting in managing the food operation within The Venues Collection property. Working with the Head Chef and key stakeholders to deliver a consistent, compliant, and profitable department in accordance with all statutory requirements, company policies, and health and safety procedures.

Duties will include:
  1. Assisting with the consistency of the food offer throughout the hotel.
  2. Assisting with food ordering and stock rotation.
  3. Minimising and monitoring waste using Compass lead systems.
  4. Providing a consistent product and delivering at a high level.
  5. Assisting with the implementation of current food trends and cooking techniques, inspiring the team.
  6. Playing a key role in delivering a variety of meetings and events.
  7. Training kitchen, F&B, and sales teams on current products and delivery methods.
  8. Following company standards and striving for high success.
  9. Monitoring customer satisfaction and reporting findings.
  10. Staff retention and development, managing team members’ progression.
  11. Reporting to the Head Chef to identify improvements and implementing changes.
  12. Implementing and managing rotas aligned with business expectations.
  13. Maintaining high standards of HSE practices within the department.
  14. Overseeing FIR and allergen guidelines, providing customer information at all times.

  1. Excellent culinary skills.
  2. Experience in a similar role.
  3. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and motivate others.
  4. Willingness to lead by example and inspire the kitchen team with guidance from the Head Chef.
  5. Ability to maintain processes that promote efficient ways of working.
