Job summary

Caring Homes Group Ltd. seeks a skilled Sous Chef for The Pines in Wandsworth to lead and support daily meal service for residents in a 50-bed nursing and dementia home.

This permanent, 40-hour-per-week role offers a competitive hourly rate of £15.75 in a supportive kitchen team. You will assist the Head Chef with menu planning, maintain high safety and hygiene standards, mentor kitchen staff, and ensure menus meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or above in Food Safety.
• Level 2 Catering and Hospitality qualification.
• Allergen and intolerance awareness certificate desired but not essential.
• At least 5 years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for residents.
• Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, organisation and safety standards.
• Support and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Create and update menus that align with residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate special events and dietary accommodations.
