Job summary

Search Consultancy is recruiting for a talented Sous Chef to join a high-end restaurant in Glasgow city centre. The permanent, full-time role offers a secure salary and the chance to progress in a renowned kitchen.

You'll lead a skilled brigade, rotate training across sections, uphold food safety standards, and deliver exceptional dining experiences. A 4-day week is offered with paid extra days and a competitive bonus structure.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent.
• Senior Chef de Partie or higher experience in a rosette-level kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist the senior kitchen leadership team in delivering smooth and efficient kitchen operations, directing the team and maintaining food safety standards.
• Run service and provide training/leadership across kitchen sections through regular rotation.
• Apply knowledge of ingredients, cooking methods, and hygiene requirements.
• Deliver high-quality food and exceptional guest satisfaction.
• Maintain a flexible, enthusiastic attitude while managing competing priorities.
• Demonstrate organisation and reliability in a busy kitchen environment.

We are looking for a talented Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a high-end restaurant located in Glasgow city centre.

This is a permanent, full-time, salaried position offering stability, career progression, and a brilliant working environment.

The successful Sous will receive a starting salary of £36k, plus amazing tronc payments of £10k+ and potential bonus payments as well as a range of additional non-financial benefits. Schedule is a 4 day working week with any additional days paid extra.

In this Sous role itself

• Assist the senior kitchen leadership team in delivering smooth and efficient kitchen operations, giving direction and maintaining excellent food safety standards at all times.
• Run service and offer training/leadership experience across multiple areas of the kitchen through regular rotation of the team.
• Apply sound knowledge of ingredients, food preparation methods, and food hygiene requirements.
• Focus on delivering high-quality food and first‑class customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a flexible, enthusiastic attitude and effectively manage competing priorities.
• Demonstrate excellent organisation and reliability while thriving in a busy kitchen environment.
• Previous experience as a Senior Chef de Partie or above in a busy, quality kitchen, operating at rosette level as a minimum.
• SVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent practical kitchen experience is evident.
• Passionate about food, quality and delivering an outstanding guest experience.
• Flexible and reliable with a positive, team‑first attitude.
