Job summary

Signature Senior Lifestyle is seeking a Sous Chef for our luxury care and nursing home in Hornchurch. You will be second in command to the Head Chef, ensuring every dish is nutritious and restaurant quality, while leading and developing the kitchen team to maintain high standards.

You will collaborate with the Head Chef to review menus, showcase creativity, and deliver exceptional dining experiences for residents and staff. Prior supervisory experience and COSHH awareness are advantageous.

Qualifications

• 5 years of kitchen experience
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Hygiene or Catering
• Supervisory experience and COSHH awareness

Responsibilities

• Second in command to Head Chef; ensure every meal is nutritious and restaurant quality
• Manage and develop Chef de Partie and Commis Chef
• Assist Head Chef in regularly reviewing and developing the menu

Job Introduction

Use your experience and passion for amazing food, when you join Signature Senior Lifestyle as a Sous Chef. You'll take on an important role in a superbly-equipped kitchen at our luxury care and nursing home in Hornchurch.

Your Role at Signature

As Sous Chef you'll play a crucial role in keeping our busy kitchen running smoothly. Second in command to the Head Chef, you'll be responsible for ensuring every meal that leaves the kitchen is nutritious and restaurant quality.

You'll manage and develop the Chef de Partie and Commis Chef, sharing your experience and knowledge.

You'll also use your creativity and passion to help the Head Chef to regularly review and develop the menu.

With 5 years' experience working in a kitchen and an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Food & Hygiene or Catering Services, you know your way around a kitchen. Supervisory experience, awareness of COSHH, and a cool head, even in a hot kitchen, are a big advantage.
