Qualifications

About the Role: Sous Chef

We love real cooking — and so do our customers. We do it with high-quality ingredients, and as a Sous Chef, you'll be the key support for the Head Chef, leading and engaging the kitchen team to deliver excellent service across 14 shifts per week.

Your responsibilities include leading shifts, ensuring the kitchen operates effectively and safely, managing stocks, health & safety, hygiene, and maintaining 5-star kitchen standards. You'll be proactive and detail-oriented, always ensuring food quality and timely delivery.

What You Bring
  • Experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or Assistant Kitchen Manager aiming for the next career step
  • Proficiency in working with fresh ingredients and good kitchen skills (food prep, hygiene, knife skills)
  • A proactive work ethic, leading by example to uphold high standards
  • Driven and relentless in overcoming challenges
  • Knowledge of KPIs and decision-making in the absence of the Head Chef, considering labour, stock, and food safety
  • Excellent communication skills to manage stakeholders and build trust with Ops Chefs and Managers
  • Strong understanding of rota scheduling, sales, labour forecasts, recruitment, and HR processes
  • Experience in training and recruiting kitchen staff including Apprentices, KPs, Chefs, Junior Sous Chefs, and Sous Chefs
