Job summary

The New World Trading Company is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership in Bournemouth. You'll support the Head Chef, drive high standards and nurture a positive, high-performing team culture.

You'll lead by example, manage day-to-day kitchen operations, ensure food quality and presentation, and help deliver memorable dining experiences across our venues. Previous Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior kitchen role or sous Chef position.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent cooking techniques and food presentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations and maintain service standard.
• Mentor and coach kitchen staff to improve skills.
• Ensure food quality, safety, and waste control.
• Collaborate with Head Chef on menu and costs.
• Deliver consistent, high-quality service during busy periods.

We're looking for Sous Chefs who are passionate about great food, strong teamwork and creating memorable dining experiences.

At The New World Trading Company, you'll be a key part of the kitchen leadership team, supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food while maintaining a positive and high-performing kitchen culture.

You'll lead by example, support the development of your team and help ensure every service is delivered with consistency, quality and care.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting the day-to-day leadership of the kitchen
• Maintaining food quality, consistency and presentation standards
• Coaching and developing kitchen team members
• Supporting stock control and food cost management
• Maintaining food safety and compliance standards
• Delivering smooth and successful services
• Helping create a positive and collaborative kitchen environment

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines strong culinary skills with a passion for leadership and teamwork.

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie is desirable.
