As a strategic Sourcing & Procurement Specialist, you play a key role in both our supplier strategy and the product development process. You combine market insight and negotiation skills with a long-term vision, making a direct contribution to the success of our product launches.
Continuously optimizing the supplier landscape: strengthening relationships with existing suppliers and developing strategic backups for critical product groups.
Identifying, evaluating, and selecting new suppliers (mainly in Asia) through market research, trade show visits, and proactive scouting.
Making well-founded choices based on price targets, margins, and production capabilities, and translating them into clear vendor business cases.
Negotiating cost prices, contract terms, and order quantities with the goal of ensuring optimal margins and reliable delivery of quality products.
Acting as a bridge between purchasing, design, and product management and helping shape the products from the initial briefing through to launch.
Conducting annual evaluations, closing contracts, and decisively addressing any quality or communication issues.
Supporting planning with clear insights into expected inventory impacts and delivery reliability.
You hold a Master's degree in an economics-related field and have at least 4 years of experience sourcing Chinese suppliers within retail, interior design, or related sectors.
You possess strong negotiation skills and easily build sustainable relationships with suppliers.
Analytical thinking is second nature to you; you make decisions backed by data and market insights.
You work accurately and result-oriented, take initiative, and know how to set clear priorities.
As a communicative and positive team player, you are eager to achieve results together with your colleagues. At the same time, you can work independently and in an organized manner.
You are willing to make short business trips to Asia a few times a year.
You are comfortable using MS Excel and various computer systems & tools.
You are fluent in both Dutch and English, spoken and written. Knowledge of Chinese is a plus.
