Job summary

We’re recruiting a Sourcing Manager to join an established UK retail and wholesale organisation, taking responsibility for sourcing and commercial performance across a key own-brand category portfolio. You’ll work with suppliers and internal stakeholders on cost reduction, supplier management, and new product development.

Based in North West London with hybrid working and occasional travel across the UK and Europe, the role focuses on strategic sourcing, tendering, and delivering commercial

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ buying/sourcing experience in a retail or wholesale environment.
• Experience working with own-brand/own-label products.
• Strong understanding of cost prices, margins and cost-of-goods management.
• Proven supplier negotiation and tendering experience.
• Experience working with manufacturers and understanding production and supply chain considerations.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into clear recommendations.
• Experience managing NPD and/or new product sourcing projects.
• Confidence influencing suppliers and multiple internal stakeholders.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.

Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you’ll identify opportunities to improve cost, strengthen supply and bring new products to market. This is a commercially focused role combining strategic sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, tendering and new product development.

Key responsibilities will include:

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

We’re looking for an experienced Buyer, Sourcing Manager or Procurement professional with a strong commercial background gained within retail, wholesale or FMCG.

You’ll ideally bring:

• At least 2 years’ buying/sourcing experience within a retail or wholesale environment
• Experience working with own-brand/own-label products
• A strong understanding of cost prices, margins and cost-of-goods management
• Proven supplier negotiation and tendering experience
• Experience working with manufacturers and understanding production and supply chain considerations
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into clear recommendations
• Experience managing NPD and/or new product sourcing projects
• Confidence influencing suppliers and multiple internal stakeholders
• Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills

Experience within grocery, food, drink or BWS would be particularly advantageous, although we’re open to candidates from other relevant FMCG categories with strong own-label sourcing experience.
