Job summary

DPD is seeking an experienced Sortation Manager to strengthen our hub operations team in the United Kingdom. You will lead a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring accurate sortation, safe practices, and KPI achievement as trailers arrive or depart to our depot network.

Successful candidates will have proven people management experience in a fast-paced setting, strong communication, decisive problem solving, and data-driven reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast paced operation with proven people management delivering a high performing team.

• Decisive and effective decision-making, problem resolution and time management skills.
• Resilience, self-motivation and flexibility in a dynamic environment.

• Must have a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of warehouse operatives to unload/load trailers and ensure accurate sortation in line with KPIs.
• Oversee hub processes to maintain health & safety, productivity, and cost targets while delivering outstanding service to Depots and customers.
• Resolve operational problems swiftly and maintain high quality in all processes.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sortation Manager, to help strengthen our hub operations team.

In this role you will be managing a team of warehouse operatives making sure that they are engaged, organised and motivated, while they either unload or load trailers that arrive at site or are waiting to depart to our network of Depots. You will oversee the accurate sortation of the parcels to ensure this is achieved in line with Key Performance Indicators.

Other key accountabilities will be;

• Achieving the Hub objectives relating to Health & Safety, productivity, and cost to deliver outstanding service to our Depots and customers
• Manage all operational procedures ensuring the immediate resolution of any problems, whilst maintaining a high quality in all of our processes.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for;

• You will have experience in a fast paced operation with proven and demonstrable people management experience, involving direct accountability and responsibility for motivating and leading a high performing team.
• You will have strong communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and manage team.
• Decisive and effective decision-making, problem resolution and time management skills.
• Demonstrate high levels of resilience, self-motivation and flexibility.
• Excellent computer skills with the ability to use Google chrome applications
• The ability to do comprehensive reporting, alongside analysis of data is a key requirement for this role.
• You will be highly vigilant to any unscrupulous activity taking swift and appropriate action when required.

• A full UK driving licence
