Job summary

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Specialist Operations Response Team (SORT) Training Officer to lead, coordinate and develop the Trust's SORT training programme. Based in Bristol or Exeter, with regular travel across the South West, the role ensures training aligns with NHS England Interoperable Capability Standards and national SORT requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualifications or significant experience relating to SORT and Interoperable Capabilities.
• Degree or evidence of working towards higher education at level 6/7.
• Full UK manual driving licence with limited points where applicable.
• Emergency response driving qualification and operational experience.
• CPD evidence and leadership/mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Organise, plan, develop and deliver the SORT training programme.
• Design training plans, lesson materials and learning activities.
• Monitor workforce competence and maintain governance and assurance.
• Provide line management and professional support to SORT Trainers.
• Collaborate with HART, Fire & Rescue, Police and partner agencies.
