Job summary

Applicants should hold a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography with HCPC registration and a Post-Graduate diploma/DMU in Medical Ultrasound, plus post-registration ultrasound experience and strong communication/IT skills.

Qualifications

  • BSc degree in Diagnostic Radiography to meet HCPC registration requirements.
  • Post-Graduate diploma / DMU in Medical Ultrasound is required.
  • Post-registration experience of general ultrasound imaging and reporting, including Gynae pelvis scanning.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills with teamwork ability.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality ultrasound imaging and reporting for a varied caseload within the department and on the ward as required.
  • Work with a strong emphasis on Gynecology service and patients.
  • Maintain ultrasound quality assurance processes where applicable.
  • Provide care in a collaborative radiology team.

Sonographer

Oxford Hospital | Radiology | Bank | Ad hoc

Up to £50 per hour (dependent on experience)

As a Sonographer at Nuffield Health Oxford Hospital you’ll bring high levels of technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately. You have a great eye for detail and you’re caring by nature with excellent teamwork skills.

What will the role of a Sonographer involve?
  • This role calls for equal excellence in technical and people skills

  • You’ll deliver high‑quality ultrasound imaging and reporting for a varied caseload within the department, and on the ward as required.
  • The role will be largely based around Gynaecology service and patients
What are we looking for in a Sonographer?
  • You’ll have a BSc degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent to meet the registration requirements of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and a Post‑Graduate diploma / DMU in Medical Ultrasound
  • Post‑registration experience of general ultrasound imaging and reporting to include Gynae pelvis scanning.
  • Experience of managing an ultrasound quality assurance programme will also be an advantage.
  • You must have excellent communication and IT skills, along with a good understanding of how to encourage and promote effective teamwork

As a Bank Worker, you’ll be called on to provide cover during periods of sickness, holidays or increased workload. We’ll give you a uniform and personal protective equipment. You won’t be classified as an employee, so there’ll be no fixed working pattern, or entitlement to guaranteed or continuous employment.
